Discussion

Wednesday 3/17/10
Moderate winds and low background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range statewide.

Thursday 3/18/10
Winds may be light enough and background levels high enough  for ozone to reach "Moderate" or possibly higher levels in the Houston and Beaumont/Port Arthur areas on Thursday afternoon.   Fine particulate could also reach "Moderate" levels in parts of the Houston area with highest concentrations in the morning and evening.    Elsewhere in the state low background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.

Friday 3/19/10 - Outlook
Gusty southwest to west winds in far west Texas may produce moderate amounts of blowing dust in the El Paso area.   Particulates could reach "Moderate" levels in the afternoon and evening.  Wind speeds will be increasing across the rest of Texas, and this should help to return the air quality to the "Good" range in all other areas.

Saturday 3/20/10 - Outlook
A strong cold front will be bringing gusty northerly winds to the state on Saturday.    These strong winds should keep the air quality in the "Good" range statewide.
