Discussion

Friday 11/6/09
Background levels may be high enough for ozone to reach "Moderate" or possibly higher levels on the north and northwest side of the Houston area this afternoon and into the early evening. If background levels are high enough, ozone could possibly reach "Moderate" levels in the Beaumont-Port Arthur area this afternoon. Winds should be light enough for fine particulate to continue at "Moderate" levels in parts of Southeast and in the El Paso area, with highest concentrations in the morning and evening evening. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.
