TCEQ approves fines totaling $520,789
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $211,814 against 23 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: two air quality, three multi-media, one municipal waste disposal, six petroleum storage tank, and two public water system.
Seven default orders were issued in the petroleum storage tank category, of which one was a default and shutdown order.
Penalties were also assessed in two petroleum storage tank cases following hearings at the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
In addition, on Mar. 3, 12, and 24, the executive director approved 120 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $308,975.
